Sunday, November 1st, kicked off the seasons holiday spirit. Under the direction of the A.B.A.T.E. and the city of Philadelphia, the season was kicked off with the MC clubs of all sorts. Attending were the A.B.A.T.E.S. as far away as Florida. The weather cleared and shined down on thousands and thousands of bikers as they wore their hearts on their sleeves once again.
While walking and shooting their pictures, many shared their stories with me (this photo journalist) as to what this day meant to them. When bikers plan a weekend for an event, you know the passion of a biker shines through.
The story I will share with you is one of a child, born over 25 years ago, that never left Children's Hospital Of Pennsylvania until a year after she was born. The toys brought that day were toys to be shared with children who go through alot of pain, sorrow and sadness . With every window open, for all to see , the children here live with hope, love and greatness. They wish that one day, they will be whole again.
Searching and seeking to bring fulfillment to these children, A.B.A.T.E. sought out the bikers all over the country to attend this event. The toy run out of Philadelphia is one of the largest events. It doesn't matter whether you fly your colors, ride with a club or simply just attend. Your presence is appreciated by so many! The brother and sister hood under the A.B.A.T.E.umbrella has proven time and time again to be a union of passion, drive and respect. Under such an umbrella, all bikers, unlike other forms of clubs , will always be able to come together .
The spirit of giving from within shined from with out that day!
