The Longest Trike On The Motorcycle Circuit was the master Mind Of Steve McGill , Known as Smokey.
The trike measures a whopping 19Ft 6 inches long and seats up to 10 riders. Haling From The USA and The great state Of Kansas
The Anaconda makes the Guinness Book Of World Records In 2006.
It weighs 1,420 lb. It is made from a 1998 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, Custom built with the joint efforts of Ron Wright who provided the trike and kit, in hopes of hitting the road and making it Street worthy.
This machine built with a 12 foot shaft proved to be road ready after 6 months of building. From the look of The trike you would swear the engine was in from. Most wonder as I did how was that so ? it was intended to make you think. A fake front engine sits up front constructed of a fiberglass engine with a fiberglass Harley block and adding real heads, primary cover and other chrome items. This engine does not work, but puts your mind to wondering "How'd He Do That?"
There has to be a motor under the gas tank or it just It
Smokey powers it up from the rear with a stock Harley Evo motor.
What most don't know, is the man behind the story, Here Is The way Smokey Tells it....
"Not In Kansas Any More" was brought to Lancaster County Through the Axis Of Steel MC show October 30 through November first.
When some one rides a Harley, they ride the curves, the streets and the Mountain sides feeling the thunder and the roar. Bikers know the machine they ride to be grand , you may add a touch or two to make it your own. Here is a thought, would you ever think to cut it in half ?
Neither would I . The Anaconda is the mastermind of Smokey from Kansas . He saw a car go by , a Pt Cruiser to be exact, that was stretched from a four seater to a Limo. Smokey was a race car driver, admiring a car is something he had always done. This time he took into his mind, looking over at his Harley, what if I could stretch my bike into a limo, Is that at all possible ?
Having had owned his Harley for some years he was tempted . His wife encouraged him to do so. He said, "How can one cut a beautiful machine in half?" Thinking long and hard about the dynamics of the possibilities, he not only wanted to stretch it, he wanted it to be able to ride on the streets.
Many said it could not be done, being the man he is, he was now challenged and with a saws-all, he cut it right in half.
Six months prior Smokey went around collecting all the parts he needed , now the impossible had to become reality. Three days later the frame was put together, and every part was in place. His wife was amazed. There was not a single part left on the floor. He knew exactly where each part went; therefore, they actually fit with out the hammer pounding and adjusting. Smooth sailing for Smokey!
Now that it was all together, how would we test it. While many suggested sand bags, many more wanted it to be real. Everyone wanted to be apart of it. Each one volunteered , he took them one by one, added them to their seats and each time he came back for another the excitement grew larger.
He did it! It worked! He took it on the street with escorts. He not only made his dream come true that day but he filled people's hearts with warmth and smiles and never looked back.
Smokey gets the usual question "Why 10 Seats ?" He gives the same answer without hesitation " one seat for my wife, 8 seats for my ex-wives and one seat for my new wife." Smokey attends many events through out and brings thousands of smiles and dollars.
It was a sure pleasure meeting a true team. In hopes of meeting up with them in May 2010.
